Vegan Fashion Week in Los Angeles
OMG, this was such a long and busy weekend. But it was a good kind of busy. This last weekend, from February 1st to Feb 4th the first Vegan Fashion Week of the world happened! And of course that it happened in Los Angeles, the capital that sets out the world hottest trends.
When I look back at when I was working on a project called " Fashion for Better" by the amazing shoe designer Francesca Giobbi, probably around two years ago, I remember I was doing a lot of research on ethical and sustainable fashion. Who knew I would be a part of this movement, this just makes me even more sure that everything happens for a reason.
As a PR, is my job to make new connections for the brand I am working for. When participating in an industry event, I am especially focused on meeting influencers and press. It's important to have this one on one time with professionals that can, one way or the other, help to spread the word about the brand.
During the day on February 2 and 3, designers and other exhibitors had the opportunity to chat with media, buyers, and consumers about their brands, sharing the methods they use to create their products as well as how they started creating cruelty-free fashion, at the Vegan Lounge inside the California Market Center. Exhibitors in the lounge included clothing and accessories designers, skincare and beauty brands, along with vegan food companies and more.
